I Love My Car

Whitey was a 2005 Chevy Cobalt. Basic transportation, whitey was not blessed with many bells and whistles. One moment whitey was delivering me home from wal-mart and the next it was turned east on a west bound lane. Everything became a little hazy. I remember a frantic woman wondering if I was all right. I looked on in disbelief wondering what fate had waiting for me. My trusty steed was headed to the glue factory.

Fate found me a 2010 Toyota Prius. Many people laugh at my little car but I figure people who like big vehicles are compensating for other deficiencies. Then they go to whining about the price of go juice . I just drive by and laugh on my way to the bank.

There were a few people who told me I should get a Chevy Volt. That just doesn't make any sense to me. The beauty of my Prius is that I can get in it and go. No waiting for it to charge. No messy cords. Just 40 plus mpg all the time.

In the year since I got my car there has been I item which I couldn't fit and haul in it. Groceries, big screen televisions, and countless odds and ends have been hauled easily. On ice covered roads and in triple digit heat my car has performed flawlessly. I think back as I watched the tow truck haul whitey off into infamy. Perhaps it was all for the best.

LOL...we have the huge gas guzzler and we do complain about the price of gas, but it's paid for and affording another one, right now in this economy, is out of the question. It hauls everything, to include a friends big ole clunker of a ski boat to the lake, summer before last. More recently, it hauled wood for the deck we built. Love the thing, hate the economy...but I have faith that the next elections will rectify those problems...;) voted...I love that you name your vehicles too. Ours is Big Red, Ford F-150 step-side, with fold down jumpers.

There are some things I am passionate about and spend more than I should. I am more practical when it comes to cars. If you see me driving down the highway don't run over me. I tend to hang out in the slow lane. As far as the election is concerned I think Sara is the best man for the job. I don't think she will run. I hope we don't get a wimpy conservative who will buckle when the going gets tough.

I would love to see Herman Cain win. He's a fantastic business man, he's proven he can take a problem--bankruptcy--and turn it into millions. Godfather's Pizza was going under when he bought it and it's worth millions today. The U S is going down--maybe for the third time--and I believe he can save it. The last thing our truck ran over was a bush in bucket, the bucket died, but the bush survived and I didn't do it, the hubby did...LOL
